Activists from 44 countries have launched the largest civilian flotilla in history at the end of August in an effort to break Israel’s siege on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the starving population of the enclave.
The Global Sumud Flotilla, along with three allied initiatives, will send dozens of boats from Spanish ports on 31 August and Tunisian ports on 4 September, aiming to establish a humanitarian corridor and confront what organizers call Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.
I wonder why South Africa hasn't requested the Secretary General to call an emergency special session under a Uniting for Peace resolution. SA broke the dam of genocide silence with its complaint against Israel lodged in the ICJ and has pressed the issue repeatedly. But why hasn't it sparked an emergency session?
And why the hell hasn't the ICJ issued a ruling in SA's case by this late date? Are they waiting for more evidence? Does Israel have to bomb the ICJ for them to get the picture?
And by the way, Trump's speech to the GA was as inappropriate as a kid farting at a Thanksgiving Day dinner. That speech itself is grounds for his impeachment, violating every precept of statesmanship and decorum. Trump is our shame before the world, an assassin and genocide monger boasting of being a peace maker. Insanity on stilts.
Call on Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Let him go to Gaza and stand with the suffering people who are being massacred by Israel and the Western posers. He can go to Gaza right now, and insist aid be allowed in.
