Thank you Sam not only for your astute commentary but your inclusion of Frank Zappa's observation regarding the role of politics within the military-industrial complex.
I read his co-authored autobiography a few years ago and don't remember a Kennedy Center performance. I bet there were others in the DC area though. Given his experiences, he had ample reason for his pithy anti-authoritarian statements..
I'm not sure whether it was juicy or not. I read it for a couple of reasons: I didn't know very much about him but a number of musicians whom I respected thought he was an exceptional musician and a bright dude with an unshakable moral compass. Plus, I grew up and lived most of my life in the greater LA area so I could relate to both the geography and the counter-culture that inhabited it.
Frank Zappa was so very clear-eyed. Astonishing, here we are so many decades later....
I also really appreciate the harrowing details of the evangelical take over of the US cultural centers. And the pictures... I don't think I am going anywhere for a good long while.
"As things stand the prime US contribution to 'art' is con-artistry, which of course Trump is a leading practitioner of."
Just priceless. So according to Nate Silver, Trump's net approval stands at -12.2%, overall approval at 42.1%. I'm fine with the net number, but what does it say that his overall approval is about ten times what it should be? Too many Americans walking about in public are still behind this uber-jamoke.
Perhaps a hopeful note to be found there, that the American people aren't themselves such lost causes as are their political parties. The Republicans have already gone over the cliff, and as Chris Hedges has implied, the Dems should pretty much be pushed over it, there's no hope for them. Who's the new head of the DNC, Ken Martin is it? Upon the Dems first meeting after the Trump II (mal)administration set up shop, Martin inspired the crowd with all manner of denunciations of Trump, and not a word about health care, education, housing, global warming, the deficit, military adventurism, Gaza, and how many other issues of concern to the American people. So he and the Dems are really plugged in, perhaps headed toward mediocre results in 2026, and another defeat in 2028.
Nah, we need something entirely new, a real live Left in this country.
And Frank Zappa was part of the "Rock 'n Roll" music industry, something meant to lure the youth into degeneracy to distract, confuse and weaken their voice against war and which was part of the intentional shredding of the fabric of society. E Michael Jones describes this process in his book "Libido Dominandi: Sexual Liberation and Political Control." He is banned from selling books on Amazon. But Why? Where are we allowed to talk about the Jewish ethnic warfare that drove this agenda? That seems to have killed who Sam considers the last American president? Who took down the towers on 9/11? Who subjugates the US and the entire West through spiritual warfare? The enemies of Christ and the entire human race according to St. Paul?
What is the force that can bring people together to rise up for the principles and practices taught by Jesus Christ, our holy redeemer and savior? For us in the West, it has to be a revitalization of the apostolic Catholic Church He founded on earth and promised the gates of hell would not prevail against, the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings that served as the moral foundation for our civilization in the West. Christ is King regardless of the illusions those given to worldly interests try to project. Christ is King regardless of what the people who still have no shame about killing Him do or want. Christ is King, now and forever. Merry Christmas!

Thank you, MM. Think of that quote lots. Looks like Zappa preformed at the KC btw, but couldn’t find video or such.

Anything esp juicy in the autobiography?

I don’t think many are really behind him, they just hate the Democratics so much. Often with good cause.

Thanks Sam, interesting. How EXACTLY do you propose to alter the system?
