Calls for disclosure, highlights Kenema labs began getting increased "biodefense" funding following 2001 anthrax attacks. Also: Latham interview, Pierre Sprey Award.
Chernoh Bah, author of The Ebola Outbreak in West Africa, was on Counter Points with Ryan Grim yesterday.
Chernoh and myself were interviewed on “Flashpoints” by the venerable Dennis Bernstein on Tuesday. Full show and cleaned up clip (thanks to decensored.news):
Also, Jonathan Latham, who co-wrote the recent 2014 investigation with myself, was recently interview on StraightTalkMD.
It was also gratifying to have some of my work recognized by the Pierre Sprey Award for Defense Reporting and Analysis with several other notable journalists last night. Sprey was a fascinating character, a military analyst and music producer who was highly critical of the Pentagon. I was somewhat aware of his work through the writings of Andrew Cockburn, who MC-ed last night’s event, and then from Fritzi Cohen, who told me much more of him as I would become friends with her after Pierre’s death. Central to his thinking was the power of the military industrial complex and this fits well with my work: scrutinizing the falsifications of US foreign policy and pretexts around the creation of potential pandemic pathogens, funded largely by the Pentagon and USAID.
Wondering if you've read Doctor Mary's Monkey. It's written in a ridiculously sensationalist style, yet has important facts relating to the history of bioweapons research in the U.S., including at Tulane.
